Well done steak is the best. If I wanted to eat blood, I'd eat my girl out when shes on her period. Blood is gross. No need for that in my steak.

Edited by VerticalGradient: 4/9/2013 4:22:47 AMI'd agree because I once thought that as well, but it's not true. When the animal is killed, the blood is drained out of the carcass. Steak juice is mostly just water, but the red coloring is due to the protein that's inside the meat, myoglobin. In high concentrations, myoglobin's red pigment is quite visible. It's simply some of the meat's protein mixed with water that has left the meat. If we want to get morbid, you're eating flesh that was once saturated with blood, but no longer is. At least you like it cooked very thoroughly.

Yep. Although I'd stick with rare and/or above, 'cause different meats need to be cooked to different temperatures in order to eliminate possible illness.
