Bullet drop is included in Battlefield as a balancing mechanic against snipe camping. Bungie's type of shooter has no need for it. It's always been more arcade-esque.

I just don't think that Snipers can be the hyper accurate long range killing machines that they were in Halo 3 without having a significant impact on the metagame. To quote a famous Halo 3 thread, "The sniper gun shoots too far."
True, but we can also have varying levels of shields/speed/health now. (As demonstrated by the Halcyon character card shown briefly in the reveal video) The sniper might not necessarily be a one shot weapon anymore on someone stacking the shield stat. Or a character with high agility might make for a harder target. (due to higher run speed) Also, as I recall most weapons in previous Bungie games are hit scan. (including the sniper) It's impossible to bullet drop with hit scan.

Halo 2 was hitscan, Halo 3 and Reach was not, though they cranked up the velocity of the Sniper Bullet to the point where it was practically hitscan in most combat situations.

Searching, got any hints as to where they are?
