Did you hear why he didnt take it? Not enough screen time he wanted the script altered so he could be on the screen more. Guy has a crazy ego. Hell tom cruise had a cameo in tropic thunder. Will Smith comes across as a little bit of a douche

I guess it could also be an excuse as well but still django had a lot of screen time and pretty much was the protagonist. More than likely he would have been nominated for an oscar because of his notoriety so I think it was a mistake on his part.

Eh, it's understandable. One can have their standards. He won't play supporting roles. That's alright by me.
