I am incredibly angry now. LucasArts are really important to the the video game community, I would all them a pillar of the community. I wish I knew more about art so I could make a half decent comparison, people don't destroy statues because they are no longer "financially viable" they spend stupid amounts of money of preserving them and keeping them in the best condition possible. What right does Disney have to dismantle our a major piece of our culture. Especially since they looked like they where about to bounce back from their dark period.
Legally, every right. But so far as the new owners of Star Wars, all they've done is go out of their way to piss everyone off. Fans of Clone Wars (which was actually pretty good at times)? Axed. Hoping to play Battlefront III now that its predecessor is coming out? Nope, axed. Ready for a mature, M-rated Star Wars aimed for the adult fans, the first of its kind since Republic Commando? -blam!- you, axed. Fans of LucasArts? Too bad. Axed.
All Disney has done is cancel literally everything, right down to the Seth Green parody. Even the movie, which I have high hopes for because of their work on Avengers and that the best people for the job in my opinion are attached to it, will never work with the EU because its an original story (something Squirrely Otter said on his site below), so right there they're ignoring the EU already.
I don't think Disney appreciates how big Star Wars really is. They should spend about three days on Wookieepedia and read up on their new universe.
