Gravity's effect on gameplay

I was looking at the Hellmouth concept art and an idea occured to me. What if gravity affected gameplay? This could be a very interesting mechanic, especially on the Moon and Europa. The Moon has about 17% as much gravitational pull as the Earth, and Europa has only about 13.4% as much gravitational pull as Earth. Who needs jetpacks?

  • I hope not it would just make things unnersasarily more difficult...im all for it but 700 years from now we better have some artifical gravity boots or some crap..

  • As long as they don't make it too over the top, then ok! :D

  • It would definitely make for some interesting dynamic gameplay.

They need to put in the realistic gravity of each planet. Science demands it and it would be so cool and educational if they did. What better way to just give a real glimpse into our own solar system to so many kids that's actually entertaining.

    • I could easily imagine that. A Game Designer's Job is to create an experience, and I imagine that part of the experience of exploring different planets is experiencing differeing amounts of gravity. Seems like a safe bet to make.

I doubt that they would leave something like that out. Every Halo game that had space sections had far less gravity than what we are used to on Earth.

      • I think it would be a pretty cool mechanic if every planet (or maybe just some of them) had varying gravity levels to them. I personally haven't seen it done, but then again I haven't really played all that many sci-fi games.
