The thing about unlimited ammo, it's not like they walk into a gun store and say "can I buy 1500 bullets". They go in and buy 100, next week 200, then in 2 weeks 150 rounds, and keep that going for a while and they amass all the ammo in a stash.

do you have any idea how expensive it is to buy ammo? especially any time there is a ban scare. prices double to triple or more. and we're nearing peak resources for manufacturers combined with chinese mineral rights expansion while we don't pursue mineral rights at all means we're running low on vital elements.. especially bulk, which is irrelevant because 250 rounds of 00 buck or 1000 rounds of 5.56x45mm is 20 freaking pounds in the box. out of the box is not easier to carry at all. "james holmes bought 6000 rounds!" but how much can he carry? not much. and the flamehaired idiot killed more people with birdshot and a glock than he did with his AR-15.
