We do now, but WWII happened quite a bit before the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. And this kind of thing happened a lot during both World Wars.

And uh... how would guns have helped them? See, the Japanese in America wanted to stay. If they had fought, they wouldn't have been allowed to stay, and they would have brought violence down of their friends and families across the country.

If my government starts becoming tyrannical, I'll vote against them at the next election. If the Irish attack me, I'll let the army sort them out.

Wake up, we're in the 21st century. If you think the government is like that, you need to check into a mental hospital. That's what a military is for.

There's only so much a military can do. I've read from studies before that one of the reasons why the Soviet Union didn't try to occupy Finland during the Cold War was because so many Finnish people had guns in their homes.

You can't reason with these people. They've lived in a peaceful place all their life and not done enough looking out the window, nor in the rear-view mirror. For all our sake, hopefully they'll never have to see the errors of their ways.
