The fact that the rules aren't being shoved in our faces and we don't see a whole lot of rule breaking speaks highly of the new system.

No, it's just because there's pretty much no rules to break anymore. Don't be a jerk wasn't enforced tightly before, and now there's not many types of threads and posts that aren't allowed.
