Anyone that likes the show knows this. The show's not "Shoot zombies 24/7". That's not realistic and it's not the theme of the story. The theme is people losing their humanity, doing what they have to in order to survive and the characters that are trying to resist becoming what they think is a savage like what Rick's doing.

the theme in season 1 was to survive, not argue whether the child's mom should get an abortion.

Not like the show is being something it's not supposed to be. It's categorized as a drama. Besides, in season one it was the big outbreak and near a large city so of course there's going to be a lot more zombie killing, but the theme of the show is what I mentioned earlier, not "zomg kill zombies 24/7". It makes no sense for them to be out there going after zombies. The show is throwing out one of the largest plot themes in this season which is, "the zombies aren't the real problem, other people are". If you read the comics, it becomes mostly human versus human interaction with zombies as just a nuisance.
