If these portals belong to us, that would explain how we'll be getting to the other planets. If so, portals like these could fill the gap of slip-space that Halo had (well, I guess it's basically the same thing lol). Hmmm...If these portals aren't our tech then I'm curious as to how we'll be traveling. Maybe our own personal hyper-drives in our Millennium Falcons? :)

Well the game, at least from what we know is taking place in our solar system. On top of that we know that we have our own ships to some degree. So for inter-planetary travel, I'm not sure these will be the primary way of doing this.
