You tell your teacher the only practical use for such a thing is in theoretical sciences and teaching.

Um. This is just factoring. It's actually plenty useful.

he's right. I'm in multivariable calculus right now and there is some factoring involved. If I had to stress one important to learn in highschool math is to learn factoring/multiplying polynomials and all. that stuff does come back as you go higher up in math.

I'd say that just mastering Algebra in general is enough to push you through the majority of those classes :)

this as well. algebra is the greatest tool. system of equations, factoring, polynomial multiplication. everythign you learn in algebra 1 and algebra 2 will make a great re-appearance in your future college math courses.
