With all this 3D printing of weapons...

Couldn't that potentially be used by say terrorist to bring a weapon past TSA and onto an airplane? Or even 3D printing of any weapon. Would TSA be able to detect that? They already are kinda bad at their jobs.

  • inb4 Open Carry OT: Probably. The sad part of this country is it takes a massacre or a crisis for us to act on it.

    • The only thing I can think of is making the materials that are strong enough to handle it only available to the military and the factories or whatever that use it. But there would still be a way to get those mistrals, but at least it would be hard for normal people to get them.

    • you cant 3d print a weapon. there are a very limited number of components of a gun that can be safely printed.

Until you can 3D print a barrel out of something other than metal, no. As well as the ammunition.

Unless the Terrorist plans on bringing a 3D printer past security, find a place to put it, wait 5+ hours to print gun, find correct ammo so it doesn't break and test to see if the gun is good for using or to see if it's going to break after the first 3 rounds* Though i feel like i'm getting the wrong memo
