Well, i think it might get boring indeed when its to dangerous to go outside during night, if this is the case on all the planets.
But since there is space traveling, this might be cool on one world atleast..
Since, yes, like some of you said, wondering in the wild, during night, looking at the stars, and stuff like that.. is fun too indeed. Being torn apart doesn't fit that picture.. lol

It's a good idea you have. Skyrim is a good balance of what I'm asking for between us. There are just moments when the sky parts and all those stars are glowing and you're like WOW! Great job Bethesda! But I would get bored also if nothing wasn't lurking over the hill to put a arrow or bullet in when playing a game. Plus there is something fun about saying " You know what, I'm sticking to the bed and breakfast tonight." Off to the bar you trot because something doesn't feel right in the dark.

Indeed.. Besides, Destiny is also a social game, build for teamwork, and playing with friends.. I think Bungie will have lots of stuff in the game you can do with friends, or just to socialize with other players.. Like you said, a bar, maybe even mini games.. like playing cards or pool... LOL :D
