I don't see how making more would make you less happy. They more money you have means you are able to buy more and things you wouldn't be able to with less money.

Simple science, my friend. The Wallace Principle (it is rather notorious in certain circles) states simply that "the more money an individual comes across, by whatever means, the more problems that individual is likely to experience in his life."

Having more money makes other people behave differently towards you. You'd be surprised.

Sometimes making more means sacrificing more of your time, or being in a high stress job. Being stressed or not having enough free time is going to make people unhappy.
