It's going to be hard for Halo fans to not want to change Destiny into Halo. You can already see it scattered throughout this forum and on Halo specific forums on the confusion of what Destiny represents to them.

Not really. As far as I see it, Destiny is not Halo, I'm not going to put it on that pedestal, instead I'll judge it on its own merit.

I don't know. I mean, I loved EVERY HALO, Combat Evolved, 2, 3, ODST, Wars, Reach, 4, the lot of them. And while others may disagree, I don't consider myself a Halo "fan". I enjoy playing Halo, but I don't expect or want Destiny to be like Halo. If anything, I'd be pretty gutted if Destiny is anything like Halo. I want it to be a brand new gaming experience unlike any other. I mean, Bungie revolutionized the FPS with Combat Evolved, and while I loved all the Halos, imagine what kinds of things they would have come up with if they were free to make other games.

Well, the fact is, most Halo fans tend to be Bungie fans really. I mean, the really great games in the series and innovations were all just Bungie. Halo 1 overall, Halo 2's campaign and matchmaking, Halo 3 online play, ODST. Halo 4 is just another AAA game really.

As big a halo fan as I am, I don't see how people find it so hard to accept a new universe with a new plot. You can pick out similarities in every adventure game, every FPS, every sci fi game if you really want to. That's all your doing.

Well. This game actually seems extremely formulaicly similar to Halo honestly. Certainly you can find similarities in anything, but I would say this is a much higher degree of similarity. I'm personally excited for Destiny, but I think it's rather amusing.

Battlefield, Call of Duty, Medal of Honour and any other military shooter ARE THE EXACT SAME.
