I believe this happens on all mobile sites, But does the iPad offer the "Keep me signed in" Box? If so you could use that.
But if not, I think its just added security for mobile users just in case you were to leave your mobile device lying around somewhere.

Nope, it doesn't. And as I said, it never happens to me on any other site Well, sometimes I'll be signed out after a week of inactivity on a site, but being signed out while actually posting is just ridiculous. Then, every time it happens I have to click Latest and All time to get back to where I want to be.

Ahhh yes, I can see your frustration and i'm not sure why it would log you out while posting. Maybe someone else will know. But if not add #feedback to your tags and you could write up a [url=http://www.bungie.net/en-us/Forum/Post?id=59886758&path=1] Bug submission form[/url] this way the Web and mobile team now whats going on better and can help if there is a problem. Sorry I can't be much more help beyond that.
