ITT: Generalizations being a made about a party due to one person's statement.
Seriously, how can you expect to have a discussion about politics on the flood when all you people post are far out statements by people our own party doesnt agree with?

Well when Republicans are going to continously do this, they certainly don't help themselves

How many people denounced him? From what I have seen, no one has. Does that mean that they agree with him, or don't care that what he said was wrong? Which is worse? Indifference or Malice?

Define: no one. If you mean no one as in no other legislator, state or federal, i couldnt care less what they think. Every person I know who is a Republican would not agree with what he said. Im tired of people generalizing the beliefs of normal people in the party due to some stupid politicians statement.

In his party. Whenever a politician gets in front of the microphone, especially when discussing legislation, they are the voice of their party. That means every time Pelosi makes a jack ass of herself, she makes every Democrat that doesn't speak against her look bad, and this asshole does the same for every Republican around him. He wasn't voicing his opinion at some fundraiser dinner (like that makes it any better) or even on a candid interview. He was arguing legislation. At that moment in time people should have been falling over themselves to distance themselves from him.

Edited by Cultmeister: 2/28/2013 2:05:02 PMyou sweep away the opinions of other politicians yet fail to realize they are the ones in control of the policies, not you. if a fellow legislator doesn't denounce his comments then they may well let such legislation pass, given the chance. that then reflects badly upon the party as it is seen as something the party has an official position on.
