I'd rather check the "undecided" box than the "atheist" box. Way less hassle than trying to make up BS reason why you "follow" Atheism....

That would be reasonable if there were an 'Atheism (sic)' to 'follow'.

Being undecided is like being single. Your friends will try to hook you up with a partner, who in all reality is not your type at all, and may well be into weirder things than you had anticipated. Is no fun, I assure you. Atheism, literally, is a (non) theistic (religious). Our cultural connotations wreck the word, but it remains the best way to inform others that you are not interested in worshipping a faceless deity, or an anglo-saxonized caricature nailed to a cross. If you are uninterested, that is.
