I don't know if Tribes would be considered an arena shooter, but it sounds like you might enjoy it.

Personally I wouldn't consider it one since it is extremely easy to be good at with very little practice and honestly I didn't even notice a skill gap. Though the OP might feel otherwise.

If Halo 1-3 are considered arena shooters to him, I don't see how Tribes wouldn't be. Tribes definitely has a higher skill gap than Halo.
