Goku. He had much more practice being SSJ3 (Vegeta only randomly getting it in the game) and he's always won when they fight. Yes in the game Vegeta won, but going with the show/manga, I'm pretty sure Goku would win.

Actually both times they fought Vegeta won. First time, well Vegeta broke every single bone in Goku's body Second time round, Vegeta knocked Goku out.

Goku purposely let Vegeta win when they fought before the Buu saga. And Goku was winning before Vegeta became an ape, if I remember correctly.

Ya, it was pretty clear Vegeta was going to win the fight before Buu, though, Goku probably could have put up a better fight when he was close to death which is why I'm leaning more towards a tie. One of them would probably kill themselves in order to kill the other.

But the sayains don't get stronger when they're close to death. They get stronger if they get close to death then recover from that.

But they often times summon more strength if they're about to die or see their friends die, and unleash a relentless attack as a result.

But that relentless attack usually drains them, like when tien blasted Nappa after Chiaztou died which ended up killing himself.
