That may be a rumor, but what's been confirmed is Activision saying Destiny doesn't factor into their 2013 plans.

NO please stop saying this. They cannot legitimately factor it into their 2013 financials because they have no idea how it will do and making up a number would be lying to their shareholders. That's what's going on. I bet in 2015 with Destiny 2 they might be able to tell their shareholders a guesstimate.

Okey dokey. I still say it's silly from a marketing standpoint to announce a brand new IP less than a year before launch.

There's still 8+ months before this game is even released. This is completely normal for game devs. 8 months is plenty to announce, advertise, and release.
