Its sort of common sense. Smoke is made of millions of tiny particles. When these particles are inhaled they stick to the surface of your lungs. causing irritation, and in larger ammounts decreasing the efficiency of your lungs. It doesn't matter if the smoke is generated from wood, leaves, tobacco, plants, burning cars, etc.

It's still much less harmful than cigarettes and alcohol.

Yes, although this is mostly because people who smoke pot smoke less ( in grams ) per day/month/year than tobacco. and minus all carcinogenic substances that are added to tobacco.

They do have medical studies, a good amount, that have found no long term heath effects of marijuana.

Inhaling any kind of smoke is not good for your lungs.

It has less carcinogens than cigarettes, but more tar. Also, if it's legalized, and commercialized, it will probably have just as much carcinogenic material as companies add chemicals to it.

marijuana does not "have" tar. "tar" is the name for the buildup of smoke particles in your lungs. Its called tar only because it looks somewhat like tar.

But there will always be local, natural places to buy it, free from all that.
