I did pull her aside when I told her... I said so in the OP. I slammed the car door shut because I was -blam!-ing pissed off that I had just been shut down by Angie. Yes, it was childish, but I was so pissed off and sad that I literally couldn't see straight.

Clearly you didn't read what I posted. You shouldn't have pulled her away from friends. That kind of talk shoul be done privately, at another time when it's just you two. You just seem like an ass, IMO.
