  • I believe the Bungie-Activsion contract said that they were aiming for a T rating, but it's not an obligation. So it might end up being Mature if that's what their vision calls for. I'd kind of prefer that it get an M rating, because it does allow for some darker ideas to come through. But that's not to say that it has to be M to have any dark or gritty moments. Halo got gritty and dark at times, especially Reach, and I always thought Halo could have been considered a Teen franchise.

  • Kind of wish they would go with an M rating, as it could allow alot more complicated puzzles, or more elaborate jobs that needed to be done, and most of the examples of these more difficult jobs/puzzles, couldn't be done by a yonger audience without some help from there elders...

  • It's not like a game can't be both difficult and appropriate for adolescent audiences.

  • Sometime T games can be hugely creative. Scribblenaughts was E10+ (I believe, don't quote me on that), and while it wasn't that fun to play in the long run, it was definitely an amazingly fresh idea. The Metriod Prime games were rated T. Halo barely get's an M rating as it is. As far as blood and gore is concerend, I don't really mind if it's in a game, but it doesn't HAVE to have it. Games like Happy Wars and Transformers WFC seem to be great games that might be able to compete with Halo, and they don't go over T.

  • Halo would probably be rated T if ESRB was rating the series as a whole today. Almost no language, very low blood amounts (except in CE and Halo 2), non-human enemies, etc.

  • It opens the game up to a much larger audience. Younger folk. I understand it is a good thing for tue company so I am not too upset about it, but if they got M I would be happier because then they would be able to get as gritty as they wanted.

  • Hmm, I wonder what the rating will be for Destiny here in the UK? Halo is rated as 16+ which is as far as I know the equivalent for teen (and 18+ would match up with mature). It'll be interesting to see if the rating for Destiny is any lower than Halo over here.
