My advice about the re issues of the first three novels is not to buy the re issues. Just buy the second editions of the originals, the re issues have a bunch of mistakes because rather than taking the time to edit them they just copy pasted a new chapter at the end of the original pre edit novels, because you know Microsoft likes to screw things up. Plus the one chapter that they added to TFoR is not worth the hassle. Evolutions was fantastic, you should absolutely buy it.

 • Hum... If "Microsoft" only added a new chapter, then buying the new version would be just like buying the old version, except I would get one more chapter. Also, how do you know this, do you have both editions and compared them or is this just "I heard someone say they heard x"?

 • Sigh. If we had our saved threads I would be able to link you to the thread in the old Universe Forum from when the re editions came out. It was quite a big issue at the time. 343 released a statement about how they were sorry about the mistakes in the novel and said that it happened because they pasted the new chapter into an old version of the books. The Universe forum then meticulously went through the novels and pointed out all of the errors. But because like Deej said Bungie doesn't care about history it's archived if you want it go find it (and I don't feel like searching through years of threads) I can't get you that thread, you'll just have to trust that it exists. So I would recommend you don't buy the re editions because there are rife with errors, unless they came out with a version 2.0 re edition where they fixed all the errors.

 • Thank you for the info, man. There seems to be two versions of the reissued novels, the regular reissue published in the 1st of December 2010 and "The Definitive Edition", published from June 2011 to May 2012. Maybe the new new version fixed those issues? The Book Depository has the following items: The Fall of Reach, published in 1 December 2010 The Fall of Reach: The Definitive Edition, published in 28 June 2011 The Flood, published in 1 December 2010 The Flood: The Definitive Edition, published in 20 March 2012 First Strike: The Definitive Edition, published in 9 May 2012 They don't seem to have the first reissue of First Strike.
