No fatman it shouldve ended in the cell saga. It was the perfect ending. Goku stays dead, gohan finally embraces his saiyan side and becomes earth's new defender. Frieza shouldve been killed by goku and king cold or cooler shouldve been the one to come to earth to avenge him or the refridgerator family name. Maybe have one more saga with gohan being the main character. No goku. Just maybe.

Dragonball was about Goku's journey to be the best. What better way to end that story with him becoming the strongest in the universe? Cell saga and Buu saga were "He's the strongest, OH LOOK SOMEONE WHO IS STRONG STOP HIM" and weren't really adventurous, unlike dragonball and the first half of DBZ.

He did become the best. But then he died. So why cant the torch be passed down to his son?

Because Gohan isn't a worthy character. How can a whiny 5 year old be the center of a story about an adventure? Sure we can see him become a man, but that would hardly suit for a good entertaining story. And about the adventure, the cell saga isn't apart of an adventure. Dragonball up the the Frieza saga was an adventure. Then boom Cell saga was sit tight for a bit and then bad guys come. And in a way, you're right. Throughout DB he was losing the martial arts tournaments, and then he finally wins. Infact DB would have been a suitable end to dragonball, but so would the Frieza saga.

Gohan isnt a worthy character. Hes a child who got dragged into battles in between gods. Why wouldnt he whine? Wait he rarely even whines. After the saiyan saga the kid grew some serious balls. Its just that he kept getting his ass kicked just like every character whos not goku does. And the cell saga wasnt an adventure because it was meant to be the end of the journey. The end of goku's journey.

And the biggest problem with the Cell saga. >I Son Goku have just defeated the strongest being in the universe by fulfilling an ancient alien prophecy >Oh wait some kid who also did so came back in time and killed someone who magically survived being cut in half, blasted by me and then had to go through Namek blowing up >Heart virus? What bullshit is this? >Oh wait, two androids made by some scientist on Earth are thousands of time stronger than the tyrant of the galaxy >Let's pull ASSJ and SSJ2 out of our asses to win! Yay!

Gohan doesnt whine that much. Again you're pulling shit out of your ass. It wasnt even a prophecy but more of a legend that a saiyan was once the strongest being in the known galaxy. The stories frieza heard sounded impossible to him at first but then he noticed how powerful saiyans were becoming. And he started getting worried that the stories might be true especially seeing how bardock, a low class saiyan was stronger than king vegeta. Just like the way kryptonians become super powerful when they are near a sun, saiyans become super saiyans when they reach the limit of their base form and are triggered by anger,sadness or extreme danger. I suppose the heart virus is bullshit. Frieza is very resilient and he was clinically dead when he was found but brought back. And androids are supposed to be far superior than any biological life form. For they have limits and androids dont. This scientist is one the best scientists in the dragonball universe. ASSJ is supposed to be a super saiyan reaching the limit of the regular super saiyan form. SSJ 2 is just one level above, whats the deal? Stop pulling shit out of your ass fatman. At least give better reasons why.

Legend, prophecy it doesn't matter. Everything was downhill from the Frieza saga. Firstly we got the garlic Jr. Saga... And the cell saga was just a step down from the frieza saga. Worse enemies who literally did come out of no where (Dr. Gero was a character invented for DBZ, he wasn't in DB before you say he was) and the new SSJ forms did come out of nowhere. It literally just was "These are strong, better get to the next level of Super Sayain" despite them having literally no indication there even was another level, and that eventually led to SSj3 and SSj4. Cell saga wasn't terrible, but it was a step down, with the Buu saga being an even bigger step down.

Legend and prophecy there's a big difference. There were no new SSJ forms except SSJ2 which only gohan had. Cant you read? ASSJ is just the SSJ1 but the limit of that form. Even if Gero was just put in hes still one of DB Universe's greatest scientists. There was no other level. It was just super saiyan developed and reaching its limit. Everyone was just a super saiyan except gohan.

Android 17 and 18 were a bit of a bore yeah but gero and cell were the main focus and they were somewhat interesting. Cell was a badass. They didnt even know about any new forms. Vegeta took on 18. Lost to her. He got angry and realized the only way for him to beat them is to try and go beyond. He didnt say there was a new form or think that. He just said hed get stronger. And so he unlocked half the full potential of a super saiyan. Goku unlocked 100 percent of super saiyan 1 potential. Simple as that.

And then SSJ2 comes out of nowhere. Gero wasn't the main focus if he died so quickly, and Cell was only a badass when he finally got perfect. And I'll say it again, Frieza was just so much better as a villain. Hinted at in the sayain saga in like the first/second episode and the build up to the final fight with Frieza which was inevititable was brilliant. Infact I love everything about the frieza saga. Vegeta VS Frieza and his army VS Krillin and Gohan simply trying to survive with no hope

SSJ 2 came out of nowhere really? Even though its been hinted since the beginning of the series that gohan had a hidden power inside him. A power that comes out when hes angry or in extreme danger. You do realize its all been building up the entire series for that moment? SSJ2 might as well have already been invented at the start. Gero was part of the main focus because cell and the androids were the Red Ribbon Army's final act of vengeance. Well its just my opinion but cell was more badass than frieza. I could never stand frieza's voice though. But frieza would defintely be my second favorite.
