Explain Genesis. People saying its metaphorical are just trying to cop out in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Did you miss the entire point of my post? It's NOT a "cop-out", it is how my Church has interpreted it from the earliest days.

Then explain it then. Why make it metaphorical? How do you know that its not meant to be taken literally when the people who wrote this were babaric, superstitious and uneducated?

Why does your church have to "interpret" these stories? Why can't someone pick up the bible and read it and know exactly what happened? If you don't belong to your church you can't know the true meaning and means you can't even understand your religion on your own.
