Oh hell no.
I feel Halsey will learn about Cortana and offer John another AI who will in turn decline because of his loyalty to Cortana and will fight himself to be human or become a machine.

Cortana is probably on The Domain, and will find a way to get back to John. At least, that's what I hope.

It does make her, "death" rather meaningless, don't you think?

True, but she is such an iconic figure in the Halo universe, and her importance in the games would make her very hard to replace. I wouldn't be surprised if she found a way to make it onto the Domain. If I remember correctly, it was either her or Halsey that discovered its existence (outside of the Forerunners themselves). With the current hubub over the Librarian in Spartan Ops, I think she may give Chief a way to contact the Domain. Who knows? We'll find out either in Halo 5 or at some point in Spartan Ops.

Hmm, how about a compromise: she returns in a new form. Not as the Cortana we once knew, like a sort of metamorphosis.
