Even if you are not a fan of WH40k, the Inquisitor books by Dan Abnett are amazing. There are going to be 9 book seperated in to 3 trilogies, with 7 released.   • Loved the Eisenhorn Trilogy. Only one of his I've read thus far, however. Got it from a second hand book shop for $9 :D I can also recommend the Commissar Ciaphas Cain series by Sandy Mitchell, which are sometimes ridiculous but always funny.
