What's being proposed makes sense. Give them a path to citizenship, try to stop any more at the border and then keep it all orderly. I see where you are coming from, but the reality is that there are millions already here. You can't deport everyone. I hope that he gets this done. It's long past time.

Even if it was logistically possible to deport all illegal immigrants, it would be disastrous to the American economy.

It's just that the problem I have with this is it's sending the message to Hispanics that it's okay to cross the border illegally, because we'll just give you citizenship if you successfully cross.

Which is why thy are tightening security at the border... You see, this is why nothing's been done for so long. Very time one one tries, people lip out and think of reasons by it shouldn't be done. It's just impossible to find and deport every illegal. It would be folly to try. So, let's at east try one thing, since sitting on our hands has failed us so far.

Don't forget the Indians, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Canadians, and multitudes of other immigrants that are here illegally.

It's a lot harder for all of those listed to get here illegally since you have to pass through customs, assuming you're taking a plane here. Even if you're taking a boat, you still need to go through customs. It's just that the overwhelming majority of illegally immigrants are Hispanic.
