I've never really understood what jailbreaking does. Everyone I ask never seems to be able to explain it to me.

It allows you to "hack" their coding. You can have up to 6 apps on the bottum bar. Custom sounds from whatever you want. Themes. You can change your lock/unlock slider pic to almost anything. Change more sounds. It's pretty cool. I had Metroid Prime theme sounds. Texting send and receive would be sounds from the game. Ring tone, lock/unlock, email, and some other basic sounds changed to Metroid.

More customization for your iphone. Apple's is so simple thaf it has almost no customization.
