Why do people have their own names in the hash tag?

I looked at the popular tags and noticed some members. What exactly does this do?

  • Because deep down we all want to see our name make it to the popular tags. #EAKLE

  • I used to tag my own threads with "Foman123" so that it would be easier to find threads I had made in the past, but after a while I realized that I rarely go back and look for my previous threads, and to the extent that I do, I'm usually looking for ones I've made in the past couple of days, and those can be just as easily found by going through your past activity in your profile.

You should get a ban of some sort for hashtagging your username IMO. Narcissistic bastards!

Does anybody know how long our recent post History willl last? Mine still goes back to the first day of the Beta. Will it be like the old Bungie Post history where after you got too 300 post or 12 pages it just keep pushing the older stuff off?

      • I really don't know, seeing as though we have our recent post history right on our profile.

      • Easiest way to filter out your own threads.

#selfimportance Or at least that's the reason I would use it.

With no saved threads (besides liking, which doesn't work nearly as well), it's hard to find your threads. Hashtagging yourself solves that simply.

      • Tagging yourself in each thread you make could be a handy way for you to go back and search your own threads at a future time. You've got all the threads under one tag, so you can always bring up that list and find what you're looking for. However, people that start posting a lot of threads to make themselves trend aren't doing it right.

      • Some just like the attention, while others use it as a way to search through their own posts.

        • I think popular tags are just based on frequency and how many times a thread is liked.
