I remember reading that people who are slightly overweight have higher life expectancies than people who are the "ideal" weight because the extra weight can help with illnesses. This obviously does not refer to people who are obese.

Wouldn't that just imply that the ideal weight be that weight?

By "ideal", I meant aesthetically, or I guess what is typically defined between underweight and overweight. But from a health perspective, yeah, you could probably argue being slightly overweight is "ideal", though I'm not a doctor so idk. In any case, staying fit and maybe having a slightly lower life expectancy is an easy choice for me lol
