You want to know why the terrorists did what they did? I can tell you already - it's cause they HATE AMERICA, they hate was America stands as, they just hate it. The Republican outrage on this issue is purely politically motivated, and nothing more. It does not matter why they attacked the embassy, because it's over. Done with. President Obama has had two embassy attacks in his one term as President. While Bush was President, there was near ten.

Actually, I think they hate us because we won't leave them the hell alone. How would we feel if Cuba started buying land here in America and put a military installation with soldiers guarding it? They could give a dang less about how free we once were.

  •
And the oversimplification of the year award goes to IcyWind!
How, exactly, is it oversimplifying it? Everyone seems to think that there is one big reason for this. Well, you have a government that has recently been going through a large amount of change following the Civil War, along with general disorder throughout the country. Hmm. I wonder why terrorists would pick a country that is unstable at the moment. Take a freaking guess.
It matters in terms of preventing another attack from happening again.
You keep going in circles back to this, when in fact, this attack was nothing. Big deal, four Americans dead. I'd rather we deal with real issues than why a few of our guys got killed in an unstable country.
Again, irrelevant. I'm not talking about the failures of the Bush admin. If I was, I'd need a 1000 page book to do so.
It does matter. Where was the Republican outrage when those attacks occurred? Oh wait - there was none.

And the oversimplification of the year award goes to IcyWind!
How, exactly, is it oversimplifying it? Everyone seems to think that there is one big reason for this. Well, you have a government that has recently been going through a large amount of change following the Civil War, along with general disorder throughout the country.
There are multiple reasons for terrorism: -Instability (why is there instability?) -Religious ideologies (What religious ideologies?) -Hate for America (why do they hate us?) -Economic desperation (Why is that particular region in economic shambles?) -Political desperation (Why is this country's political system in shambles?) - etc.
I'd rather we deal with real issues than why a few of our guys got killed in an unstable country.
It is an issue, because we need to respond to whatever group did this, and mitigate the spread of terrorism in an unstable country, because terrorism further spreads instability, making it even harder for the new Libyan government to take root.
It does matter. Where was the Republican outrage when those attacks occurred? Oh wait - there was none.
I don't care about politicizing this, I care about preventing another attack from occurring again. Also, do you have any sources for that? Did anyone die?
