In the case of Mythix, because the founder did not exist anymore, THECHIEF(some number here), the new system probably assigned the founder to maybe the oldest or first member of that group.
I don't remember if Skibur received a name change or a new account, otherwise the User ID should've stayed the same and this wouldn't have happened.

He received a name change. While that is possible, it wouldn't explain why my own group [i]SeptaCrafters[/i] changed hands as well. (I just changed my name now, so that's out of the question.) The conversion must have went with the first user with full control, I suppose.

I think Skibur's name was changed by Achronos.
