I use Norton as an antivirus and have never downloaded any AVG thing. I did a full system scan and all it found was 3 tracking cookies. I have no idea what the AVG thing was, but nothing has happened.

Then just uninstall it. And make sure you read everything next time.

The thing is, I hadn't installed anything for at least a week, and the install date was yesterday, the day it showed up, and I hadn't even been on the internet that day.
