The last three major gun mass murders were all committed with assault weapons, which is a pattern they've recognized. But that doesn't solve the root cause to the problem, and that cause is not even brought up. But the bill probably won't make a difference to gun crime regardless, just as nothing really changed when it was enacted in the nineties. All it does is satisfy the public who think it'll solve the issue, but in reality, they're just pissing off a bunch of people with guns.
