This is pretty much exactly what I do as well, and when I play it solo it's a shitting nightmare since the design philosophy behind making the game mode "challenging" is pretty much "let's completely forget about scaling and pretend there are 3 invisible players anyway". There was a distinct lack of replay value in many of the Spartan Ops missions because of a lack of variety when it came to objectives and completing them, but from the various pieces of footage I've seen of the next Episode parts of that look like they've been remedied.
