What is your meal plan?
Google 'intermittent fasting'. It's an excellent way to eat to lose weight. I don't recommend dieting, since that largely implies a temporary change of eating habits that in your case seems to include lack of eating.

The hell of it is, I'm not eating less. I'm just eating different things. For example, while I used to eat 2 scrambled eggs, 4 pieces of bacon and grits for breakfast, I'm now eating one egg, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of dry toast, an orange, and a banana with 2% milk. And coming down from someone who used to have at least 3 bottles of soda and a candy bar or two every day, that's quite the shift in diet.

Edited by HurtfulTurkey: 1/16/2013 9:01:55 PMAs AGT said, you're eating more calories. A simple solution to this is: -4 eggs or egg whites -1/2 cup whole oats (not instant oats...just plain oats. You can add cinnamon to these.) -2-4 pieces of turkey bacon -Skim milk or water Drink a gallon of water a day.

Edited by A Good Troll: 1/16/2013 6:35:43 PMYou're eating more calories now than you were before. You're doing it wrong. 2 eggs = 110 calories 4 bacon = 160 calories Grits serving = 55 calories Total: 325 calories Egg = 55 calories 2 Bacon: 80 calories 2 toast = 160 calories Orange = 60 calories Banana = 100 calories Total: 455 calories

-blam!-ing seriously? You can't imagine the rage I feel right now.

LOL. But I bet you feel like you had a more filling and satisfying meal before, right? As you can see, the toast is probably what did you in. That is 30% of the calories of the new meal. I'm serious bro. Drop carb-laden food as much as you can - bread and pasta have no place in diets. South Beach, Atkins, Paleo, etc. - All these diets are wildly different, but have one thing in common. They restrict carbs. Why? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketogenic Low carb and low sugar diets cause ketosis - the process which burns fat.
-
I'm gonna miss spaghetti, but I gotta do what I gotta do... Also not looking forward to the inevitable horrible breath accompanying ketosis, which probably won't be helped by the fact that I'm also weaning myself off of tobacco.

If you do a keto diet make sure you strictly plan out your macronutrients. If you don't get into ketosis you'll end up packing in all the excess fat. Join the Fitness group and they'll help you out.

I wouldn't recommend keto to someone that's just trying to eat better and lose wight. Cutting back on refined carbs is good because the decreased insulin response makes it easier to use fat reserves, but there's no need to go full out and enter ketoisis. You'll just end up with brain fog, smelly piss and you'll feel like shit all the time. Plus it's terribly restrictive on what you can eat. Just avoid processed, junk and fast food. Drink lots of water. Lots of fruit and vegetables, and and good cuts of prime meat cooked grilled or with a tiny amount of fat in a frying pan. It does get easier, once you break the addiction to shit food you'll feel a million times better, have more energy and you'll lose that fat.

Edited by A Good Troll: 1/16/2013 9:17:18 PMI, and people who have done it that I know personally, have never really felt like shit past the first few days - "low carb flu" and what not. You will feel like shit if you stick with it for a few days then break it and go eat a giant bowl of pasta, then try to get back on the wagon. I never really found it too restrictive - the hardest part is "on the go" food options if you work. With fast food, your options are pretty limited.

Smart man, that Turkey guy. If you're gonna do it, you gotta do it right.
