I'd say avoid carb-laden foods (you might already be doing this) first. You will crave the hell out of carbs when you are hungry because your body knows it is cheap, easy energy.
Stick to eating filling foods - red meats and the like. Avoid bread and pasta.

You feel full at first - but are hungry again an hour or two later. The key to avoiding cravings is to avoid refined sugars and carbs. No bread, no soda, no rice, no spaghetti, no chocolate cake. Meats, veggies, fruits. In that order.
