Bungie: Was it worth it?

Against common sense and, more importantly, common decency, you implemented all of the changes you wanted in order to “make the game better” and fatten your greedy pockets. Was it worth it? Are you making a boat load more money? Does the game have a bright future? Is your community thrilled for your next expansion and ready to throw more money at Eververse? Is the “new player experience” so good that player counts are skyrocketing? If the answer is yes, then carry on. I’ll just see myself out. But I suspect that the answer to literally every one of my questions is “no.” Maybe these short-sighted and greed-driven decisions don’t actually yield positive results. Maybe unnecessary nerfs don’t actually balance the game but, rather, remove what makes it fun in the first place. Maybe pointless power grinds don’t extend a player’s play time because burn out and the lack of fun causes them to leave altogether. Maybe, just maybe, try actually listening to your COMMUNITY (not streamers and/or YouTubers). It’s not like we’re not telling you what we actually want/don’t want. I mean, look at what Destiny Rising did and why it’s so well received…

  • They are bored with a 10+ year old game and were trying to force Sony to take it over without being too obvious about it. How else do you explain so many missteps at once followed by no attempt at course correction?

Greed, incompetence, arrogance, shortcuts, minimum effort…..all this encapsulates what Bungie is today.

      • Yes. It was well worth it. Due to fools and their easily parted money, the BungLe people who make decisions are wealthy, and can retire and never work again while living a comfortable life. So, yup, sure was.

If I were Bungie, Was it worth it? Yes. Are you making a boat load more money? I don't know about more... but still boat loads. Does the game have a bright future? So bright. Is your community thrilled for your next expansion and ready to throw more money at Eververse? This is 2 questions. Yes, for the 1st. No, for the 2nd. Is the “new player experience” so good that player counts are skyrocketing? Better than it was, and yes... I'm seeing more NEW players than ever before. A lot from Asia... you're even seeing their translated posts here on the forums. 😇👍💠 And it usually takes a year, a year in D1... a year in vanilla D2.
