I haven’t played the entire campaign yet, but so far, after a few missions, there have been more dark matter/ether portal puzzles than actual combat.
I like the effort to try and not make the game feel same-y, but grinding the action of an fps to a halt every time you get invested in the combat is not it. Especially when there’s new weapons, systems and build potential with this new update.
In short, I’m here to play Destiny, so let me play that.

1 ReplyYou can't even make the argument that this expansion is just more Destiny. Because this doesn't feel like Destiny.

1 ReplyThis expansion is butt ngl. >Need to enter door >There is a barrier >Need to destroy a generator to remove the barrier >The generator also has a barrier >Need to destroy a servitor to destroy the generator barrier so I can destroy the door barrier >... >The servitor also has a barrier... Shallow -blam!- campaign.

1 ReplyInteresting at first, then overused, then *yawn* boring as all get out.
-
The first few times it was novel, something new to do. Now it’s just boring and makes a game that I loved for being fast paced and rewarded you for mobility feel slow and kind of boring.
-
3 RepliesThe puzzles themselves arent even hard. Its spending 10 minutes looking around for the relocator or the matter spark activator that are annoying.
-
1 ReplyIt honestly drags the whole campaign down

2 RepliesEdited by Crazy Cat Guy: 7/17/2025 8:51:30 PMAgreed. We installed Destiny, not Myst.

2 RepliesI didn’t want a puzzle game, platformer I wanted a shooter, when will I get to that part?
-
2 RepliesWatch the raid be even worse.

7 RepliesSo go play strikes or something. Kepler is full of puzzles and stuff to discover, and it's not gonna change just cus people think puzzles are scary
-
Sorry to spoil it for you but that's the whole campaign and it drags on for what feels like forever.
-
2 RepliesThis seems clearly done to make up for the lack of actual CONTENT. Who literally asked for our guardians to be like "Sonic the Hedgehog"? No sparrow on Kepler? To drag out time. More puzzles than actually shooting things? Same. They did this, along with the "Portal" addition that no one asked for...to give the "appearance" of content. All filler. Reused content, over and over. And it's gotten stale. Glad I'm moving on. A complete cash grab.

2 RepliesYou do combat before the puzzles, during the puzzles and after the puzzles. Where are you not getting to shoot? The puzzles take 30 seconds to a minute max.
-
1 ReplyThese puzzles and mechanics are making my missions glitch out. The gouge destroy the shield generator won’t advance at all. I can’t even finish the mission. What in the heck?
-
I personally don’t view what I’ve played so far as puzzles but instead become a ball of lightning find the hole. I actually like puzzle solving and what they did isn’t it. I can see how it’s irritating in general to players because I love the game and it’s not good. It was poorly executed and feels forced in a campaign that I think is excellent so far and story line that has set the table for years. Give Allison a raise and lock her up in a long term contract.

For 350,000 glimmer we should be able to skip the missions. The mechanics and puzzles are causing the mission to glitch and crash. I can’t finish the campaign.

It was easy recycling most likely taken from the canceled project Smith was working on. Of course that still means it is what they thought was a future direction for the game. I would guess having player numbers down by 2/3 will help rid them of thoughts that this is a viable future for the game. Of course they can also take a common path these days and blame the consumer for not loving their minimal product.
grinding the action of an fps to a halt every time you get invested in the combat
Seems to be a feature now.

13 RepliesI don’t know how many times I’m going to have to say this but Bungie LITERALLY said they were making puzzles more mission based. We need, we HAVE to like something. Example, would you rather be protecting ghost for 15 minutes? And guess what, you still shoot in the new campaign. Yeah I know it is a little difficult to understand that Bungie added thinking into campaign missions, but it kinda what they said they were going to do…
