1) They're "sunsetting" armour
2) Crafting shortened playtime and therefore not a good thing. They've tried it. It's detrimental to their game play.........so it's going.
For armour we're at least getting something..............for Weapons.........well it's back to grinding until you get lucky.
For armour we're at least getting something..............for Weapons.........well it's back to grinding until you get lucky.
Armor is becoming more static with the "archetype" determining what stats you get for instance Gunner will give you Weapons and Grenade, the only random part is the tertiary stat which could be any of the other stat types like melee for instance. But there isn't anymore wasted points in a stat you don't care about you will only get points in the archetype stats and w/e the tertiary is. As for weapons T3 and T4 weapons have double perk columns and T5 weapons have triple perks in each column so if you do higher difficulty activities you'll significantly reduce the grind by a lot, basically if you get T5 drops you'll need pretty much 2-3 drops before you get your desired roll.

Lol I opened around 300 crucible engram this season and still haven't got a decent roll for the 2 burst pulse. And a lot of the drop have 3 perk in the last 2 column :)

I dislike the RNG nature of the reset bonuses. Its not even guaranteed to be a triple roll but at least T5 loot is always guaranteed to have it. You also have to factor in ritual weapons have much larger perk pools the average is 6 per column while playlist guns have double that at 12 per column.

But that is exactly the point, I can keep playing till the end of the season and still not get the roll I want. Even gacha game has a pity system for f sake. At the very least I enjoy playing PVP, can't imagine opening 300 engram at Zavala and still have to grind for more Strike :), at that point I would just turn off and delete the game

That is the entire point of the gacha system btw the guarantees are there to incentivise you to spend your money on the tokens to unlock the characters or get more of their upgrade currency. Its even worse on weapons where you have blue rarity perks, purple rarity perks and mythic rarity perks. It has straight up weighting on the perks which is 200000x worse than whatever D2 has. You can get a mythic weapon with a blue and purple perk and that affects the power rating of the weapon by making it lower because they are "lower rarity" perks. It's gonna be the first time I am not going to buy the next dlc :), just gonna borrow a friend's account who still playing so I can play pvp from time to time :) I don't play PVE that much to sit through grinding armor again.

Armor grind will be a lot easier anyway, and its not like we are really losing anything as the new armor will straight up be better than our current.

90% of my pvp time is trials :), comp has too many cheater, and 6v6 is too laggy for my taste. Armor grinding for people who only play pvp has and always been annoying.

Plus the armour set bonuses. Might be worth it if you ask me. But I'm not going to get ahead of myself this time. Gonna watch an wait for a change.
