No. Hot take, but crafting should go. The enhancing that we have is fine, but crafting ruined any sort of fun with hunting a good roll in a "looter-shooter".

Well, 90% of the loot in their “Looter-Shooter” gets dismantled anyway. Hynra discovered a new tech that lets you dismantle engrams faster. It’s actually useful to know, that’s the sad thing.

If Bungies RNG was better I might agree with hunting for a good roll being fun.

Edited by Killapete232: 5/27/2025 1:48:51 PMImagine farming for an attrition roll on a baton velocity like a certain streamer was a day ago for hours on end to get a crap roll and be happy with it.

If crafting should go entirely, there needs to be a neutral ground. Either we are able to change the barrel/magazine, 1 of the major perks, or the masterwork or the enhancement system will never capture players like crafting did. Hell, I would be fine if guns just dropped with 1-2 extras guaranteed per section of a gun. Crafting ensured that no matter how trash your rng was, there was a guaranteed end in sight. If you are to take that away from players, there needs to be protected chances that you aren't entirely wasting your time every time.

If vault space wasn't a concern and they didn't constantly nerf / buff things, I'd think you have a point. But Bungie literally has a history of gutting something ppl grind for the next week after you put dozens of hours into getting something. As long as that happens, crafting should exist.
