For those who don’t know, Lorna Shore is a symphonic Deathcore band that is fronted by vocalist Will Ramos and guitarist Adam DeNico and a few days ago they released a new song and a music video for it.
Music video:
It’s not for the faint of heart, it’s for a lot of gore and a fair amount of violence about halfway through but it’s incredibly emotional. I’m not a filmmaker of videographer so I’m not knowledgeable about the video or the process but it’s pretty cool.
The ✨song✨
The orchestra is very prominent in the mix and honestly it’s really cool. It’s very similar sounding to their song “To the Hellfire” but it’s little more metalcore adjacent. It feels very composed in a good way, and it’s very clear that they put a lot of work into writing it. Of course Will Ramos continues to be one of the best Deathcore vocalists I’ve ever seen, I’m not convinced he’s actually a human with some of the sounds that come out of his mouth. The solo that plays during the outro is amazing beyond belief and is among some of the better metal solos I’ve heard.
Overall:
If you like heavy music then it’s definitely worth a listen, and if you think that metal is just noise then the song will probably rupture your eardrums.

3 RepliesEdited by Upperclass Bum: 5/21/2025 12:14:32 AMThe mix is horrible like most of their songs (from a guitar stand point). I'm a fan of the band (seeing them on the 13th of October, scalpers be damned) but mixing has consistently been a week point with all their releases since Immortal. Combine that with how a lot of their songs are sounding the same since The Pain Remains and I have to say I'm not terribly hyped about the song. I'll have to listen to it a few times while not doing anything else to form a better opinion on it as far as the song itself.

It’s alright. I’m more of a calmer music person but they’re definitely pretty talented if they can use the kick drum that much that fast. They gotta have like every limb attached to one or somethin

Well, hey, something new for me to listen to until Slaughter to Prevail drops their new album.

1 ReplyI liked it a lot. I'm a big fan of symphonic or more orchestral style deathcore such as Synestia or SoI but I've never actually listened to Lorna before this. It sounded really good and epic so I might listen to The Pain Remains as I've heard it's a similar style. Looking forward to their album release in September. Hopefully the music videos released are a lot less graphic since it can be off putting even with the deeper meaning.

2 RepliesEdited by ACROCANTHUS: 5/20/2025 5:37:46 PMI like my vocals clean in my metal and am generally a fan of 3-5 minute songs rather than 8. So this isn't exactly my thing, but if you are also looking for recommendations I have some metal recommendations of stuff I listen to. When it comes to metal I'd typically look for something like "The mark stays on" by crimson sun (modern melodic metal) "Once upon a time" by Roses of thieves (this is folk metal) "Mr Magic" by reliqa (progressive metalcore) "Heroes out of time" by Nekonomicon (also melodic metal with some electronic influence) "Let there be fire" by pagefire (melodic folk metal) "Lady death" by brave the sea (more folk metal)
