  • If you got two mismatched cards then maybe its time to fold, the house always wins.

  • If I was Bungie, I would start immediately (if they haven't already) on Destiny 3 and take everything from Marathon and merge it into the next Destiny and call it Destiny 3: Marathon. It's obvious from all the reviews Marathon is going to basically flop and flop hard. Bungie can save face here if they can just admit this was a big mistake to develop Marathon and those people/assets should have been used for Destiny 3 development. Then Bungie should say that all this Marathon development will not go to waste and we're going to pull the Marathon 'idea/concept' into Destiny as a new PvE/PvP permanent aspect of Destiny from the engine, to effects, to models, etc. Either port Destiny assets to Marathon engine or vice versa (not sure what Marathon is entirely built on.) Take the Marathon storyline with it's colony/world/maps and elements and turn it into the next Destination outside of Sol/outskirts of the solar system or through a warp portal or something like we had for Pale Heart. The current Destiny story continues with this added into it. All the current Destiny 2 stuff and next pacs continue until D3 launch. Then Bungie does the same thing they did from D1 to D2 and sorta cleans out the destinations/weapons/etc and we start on the next adventures with whatever they keep from D2. So again, this is Destiny. Destiny universe, Destiny story, just with 'Marathon' being the next part of the Destiny story. Take the PvP Aspects of Marathon and create a new play mode, maps, etc. with the current play modes. Take the weapons and models and obviously turn into the next xpac/weapons/armor sets. IMO this is the ONLY way Bungie is going to survive this absolute fiasco that is occurring with Marathon. Thoughts?

    • I am pretty sure the streamers will keep it alive. Most of the OG players from D1 are gone. At least from my friends list and other people I know. A lot of the newer players from Light fall and TFS will hang around maybe. But the direction they are going isn't really interesting for me personally. At least I can go play D1 without any of the D2 mechanics and vaulted material.

I think D2 will be put on life support and Destiny Rising will come to consoles and PC. Hopefully with all the gatcha 💩 severely tapered down. At this point I’m kinda apathetic to what happens to D2. I saw the proposed DLC Edge of Fate and went “NOPE.” I hate the whole Metroid Prime thing, the UI and the changes to armor. Edit:- And don’t get me started on the creative bankruptcy of “Renegades”. FFS 🤦‍♂️ It’s literally one failing franchise gripping on for dear life to another failing franchise in hope of tugging at the ‘memberberries to get you to purchase it. At this point I’m actively cheering on the demise of Marathon and Bungie as a studio.

      • It probably will. Part of me will always hates how consumer protection doesn't exist with this game. We purchase content that becomes vaulted and is never to be accessed again. I paid for the Red War - locking it is essentially taking away something I paid for. It will always be wrong.

      • My question is where does all the money go? Like they didn’t spend money on Marathon’s art style (hah), and gameplay is as mid and boring as it can get. Marathon is a solid meh. And Destiny is just a fridge full of leftovers they reheat and sell back to us, so they aren’t “making” much of anything. So one game is a flop full of stolen assets and one is just recycling and FOMO. Where is the money they make going if it’s not into the games?

      • I think leadership has to go. And the only thing that will save bungie is a destiny 3

        • It might be sony dissolves 90% of bungie and leaves the 10% to keep the d2 servers running until they decide what to do with d2

        • At the very least Sony can keep the servers on and squeeze as many bucks with their art team working on cosmetics to try getting that $3.6 B back Or end up with remnants of bungie working off unpaid to recover the money

        • Sony might take D2 over to save it. If that fails, it’s over.

          • Depends on how edge of fate does if it does good enough destiny will be fine for now. If it flops to I can see Sony cutting losses and shutting the studio. Either way they can't keep messing up and carrying on lucks running out.
