Strand as a whole is easily one of my favorite subclasses in the game. All 3 feel really fun to play and I enjoy using them in a variety of content. Strand Warlock has always felt fun to play whether you’re using the threadling or suspend build. But, it’s not really meant to be a DPS subclass and it’s super really seems designed to be fired at a group of ads and letting the threadlings clean up what survived. If Needlestorm had better tracking and all the projectiles would target the boss, it might be better but I doubt it. It’d be nice if Nova Bomb had some competition in the DPS landscape but, it doesn’t. Song of Flame was once that super but not anymore since its ignition nerf. But this season’s Artifact has made Strand cracked. Slap Barrow Dyad on base Strand Lock and activate those perks and you’ll have a fantastic time. Even the Prismatic Strand Lock build feels good. It really boils down how you use the builds to get things done. I’d be happy with a Needlestorm buff as it can sometimes struggle killing some mini bosses due to the crappy tracking. Threadlings could be buffed but then get nerfed cause they’d probably get abused in crucible again. Stupid crucible, even though I play it, it’s the only thing that gets practically everything nerfed in this game. I could count on one hand the number of times something was nerfed solely because it was strong in PvE. Overall, Strand Lock just isn’t designed to be a boss killer unfortunately, it can absolutely slay in any other department, but it just can’t match Nova or even Chaos Reach.

I had a lot of fun with solar prismatic warlock, but for now, I've gone back to a threadling build. It's probably my favourite of the non-prismatic types. Threadlings are a lot of fun when you get the loop rolling just right. Green army everywhere jumping on everything in sight. Granted, I've only used them in normal difficulties, so I can't comment on them in higher difficulty content. I will agree that needlestorm may need a bit of tweaking. Sometimes, it does piles of damage to a boss. I've almost one staged the explore mode Trenchway Tormentor with it. Other times, it just seems to miss everything except for that poor little dreg who's running away from a finisher.
