Starting today, our planned Rite of the Nine Dungeon Calendar will be changing. Each Dungeon will be featured for two weeks as opposed to three, and we are increasing Nonary Manifold currency drop rates which can be exchanged for additional weapons. With this change, Ghosts of the Deep will now launch next Tuesday, May 20 followed by Prophecy on June 3.
Alongside the above change, the second week of a given dungeon will also feature increased weapon drops, where rewards can drop from any enemy defeated. Holofoils are included in this as well!
For this week, we are rapidly working on an update that will turn on increased weapon drops in Spire of the Watcher until Ghosts of the Deep becomes the featured Dungeon next week. We'll let you know when that's deployed.
Starting on June 17, all Rite of the Nine Dungeons will be available to play at any time on any difficulty - and increased currency drops will be active for all three dungeons. Each week a featured dungeon will have increased weapon drops. This will begin with Spire of the Watcher on June 17, followed by Ghosts of the Deep on June 24 and ending with Prophecy on July 1.
On July 8, a "lootapalooza" will begin; all three dungeons will have all rewards bonuses enabled for the final week of Episode Heresy alongside a new way to spend your Nonary Manifold currency. We hope this gives all Guardians ample time to hunt for Holofoils and Adepts as they prepare for The Edge of Fate's launch on July 15.
Credit where credit is due. Bungie listened and made things better. W

Crazy how, when someone makes a change that benefits everybody, people will still complain. The entitlement from these kids is crazy
-
My dragon friend, yes it is a good change, but it should have been that way from the start. So yes a W but a mistake made first.
-
2 RepliesI’m more concerned with them stealing artist’s work for the 4th time. At this rate Marathon won’t even release.
-
I can't give credit to someone for fixing a screw up they caused. If they were honest from the start instead of trying to be cute and vague we wouldn't be here.
-
Lol brown nosing a company that fixes their own mistake! Aim higher!
-
Just how low the standard has fallen to the point where doing their job is a huge W?
-
I’m happy with the change.
-
Nice job Bungie!
-
Has the increased weapon drop rate for Spire this week been rolled out yet?
-
2 RepliesThis community really is just a screaming spoiled child. Eventually after enough crying and stomping around, you're given what you want, just for a moment of silence. Sad to watch

Paid bot post..

for one time the toddler community is right to get angry, if the the 2 week was the plan from the start ok, but a 3 week plan for old content with only 2 worth guns is bad

What pisses me off the most with this rapid change is the fact that they obviously are capable of such feats. Yet we have a great many other bugs that have been around FOREVER and they don;t even do more then a very rare mention that yes they exist. So what we are seeing is, - If there's a bug with Eververse fixed within hours. - If there's a great cheese that's gives some strange fun to the game fixed in a week to as short as a day. - If they are about to loose the last few players then fixed same week. - Notice the connection? They care less about their players just their shiny new cars! - Oh we forgot to make good on paying the artist whose art we stole? Wait did you see my new Ferrari? - At least with Disney when they take everything you create (including the butt wipe stains on toilet paper - don't ask if you know ---) well sorry you signed their contract for creative rights and you did at least get paid!

Dude are you for real?

Edited by Ghostfire239: 5/16/2025 8:57:09 PMNot really sure they should be given credit for this. They lied, got caught, then partially fixed the BS they started. If I’m understanding the changes right, Bungie didn’t even properly fix what people had an issue with. If I recall correctly people were upset that it wasn’t Ghost of the Deep this week, meaning they wanted 1 dungeon per week (which makes sense) yet all Bungie did is change the schedule from 3 weeks per dungeon down to 2. That not exactly much of an improvement. In my opinion this just seems like Bungie doing a great job at lower player’s standards. Push some dumb stuff that pisses off the community and then back track just a bit to get some praise and now that partial solution can be a new standard.
-
I knew there would be a post like this on here. This is why Bungie will continue to screw with their player base
-
I wonder if this was all an elaborate play by Bungie. They figured making the dungeon rotate weekly would be the best for players, but not in terms of prolonged playtime. Having the dungeon rotate every three weeks would require people to come back at least twice for the dungeons. However, they figured people were not going to like it. Therefore, they decided to let their plan ride into week two and judge our reaction. Since we obviously reacted negatively to it, they decided to switch it on the fly to every two weeks with increased rewards to find a middle ground between prolonged player retention and player enjoyment. In the process, people would praise them for listening and changing it while still having better prolonged retention, making it a win-win from their perspective.

Just proves for the 10,000th time that they choose when to fix and when to nerf.. It's all B.S

-
This isn't a W. If hit you with a baseball bat, knowing you'll be pissed about it, but then clean up the booboo later. That's not a W.
-
6 RepliesThey did nothing more than fix a mistake, you don't praise performing to the expected standard.

Actual bafoon right here !

Edited by S I L E N C E: 5/15/2025 4:41:29 PMSeems deliberate on their part. They had 2 months to mention Rite of the Nine.....No info.... They had 2 months worth of twids that they hyped up...."big twid" "Juicy Twid"....Rite of the Nine made no appearance in those TWIDS They had 2 Months worth of Comms over Twitter.....No Rite of the Nine info (instead we got feet picks & Edge of Fate reveal teasers instead....) And look where their first response was? DMG on Twitter, Destiny Twitter doubling down on the planned schedule....Then the night of or day after.....Destiny Twitter releasing an improved roadmap for Rite of the Nine that they JUST HAVE TO DO at the last minute 1 week after launch. All their Twids talked about everything else except Rite of the Nine. Their TWID 1 week before launch literally said https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/twid_05_01_2025
Three New Rewards Coming with 8.2.6 As you know very well by now, we are reprising the Prophecy, Spire of the Watcher, and Ghost of the Deep Weapon sets with new perks, additional traits, and a renewed look that includes a holofoil version for those of you with the soul of a crow. We think you will love the weapons and their perks, so we won't be talking about those here today. Discovering by yourselves what they have to offer will make them a bit more special. That said, we wanted to give you a little tease of what's to come, so how about we reveal the additional weapons coming to Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, and Nightfalls?
They were deliberately silent about how they talked about this event. They wanted us to discover how the event was timegated ourselves.....only to tell us in detail on Twitter shortly after..... They have learned since Into the Light They tried to do the same tactic for Rite of the Nine Expect them to push out events like this again & their response to be "well its too far gone now, can't course correct this time! oopsies!" Do not congratulate them for causing the problem & then fixing it. Yes, as a player, the new structure is better & will be more fun to play. But this all could have been avoided if they even TALKED about the event in the first place. And they chose to be silent about it instead. That alone should tell you everything you need to know.

Looks like you've been playing a while. Have you forgotten they've done this type of strategy numerous times in the past? Just for the record, it took a few top trending posts to actually make these changes happen. If that is what is required to make changes that were so obvious to begin with, it speaks volumes about how this studios shortcomings have not changed in over 10 years.
-
Oh yeah, they screwed up, went back on their word, the player numbers went through the floor and then they scrambled to try and make it better without actually fixing it at all in a matter of days when other issues are ignored for weeks, months or even years. Big round of applause here... /sarcasm A 'W' is just two 'L' squashed together...

6 RepliesNo. Don't praise them for half-fixing and obvious bad decision. They literally don't care about you or the game. They only ever jump to action when the entire community calls them out, including every single top content creator. What we just witnessed was damage control. Nothing more.
