Its not just cosmetics. Renegades is the second expansion of the year, and just has straight up Star Wars weapons and stuff. Bungie talking out their -blam!- talking about how its still "destiny at its core" with it being some western type thing... well they already did that its called FORSAKEN which was uniquely Destiny and didn't shove in lightsabers and crap like that to sell it. Why do they need to do an entire expansion that is straight up just a star wars expansion down to weapons, story elements and environments unless they are just that creatively bankrupt?

I recently did start Destiny 1 with a friend who never played it before. We both did find the experience much more immersive and RPG-like than what we have in Destiny 2. No "fake depth" systems regarding loot. Actual progression (he even said he "never thought he would be happy to see a green engram drop" while leveling!) and most importantly, actual immersion. No players running around in crossover bullshit. No massively expanded Eververse. Sure, he misses transmog systems and a few minor feature. But he also said he can understand now why Veterans often prefer the "old design ideals".
