Probably because Marathon would be d.o.a if it didn’t have dedicated servers. Marathon may well be anyway, but that would seal the deal.
Also, Bungie wants to move on from Destiny 2. They’re not going to commit any more resources to this game than they need to.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if BHQ introduced an optional Subscription Service, at a reasonable price point, for Silver, for players to switch from P2P to Dedicated Regional Servers?! 🤔 I would. 👈 That is all. Ease Springs! 🫡
